Jesus, the Lamb of God

July 18, 2007

You were reading the Book of Revelation the other day and you accidentally chuckled. So, you asked your brother, “don’t you think it’s funny that Jesus is a lamb? A lamb?” to which you were softly-knocked on the head.

Just now, you read it again and you frowned and found yourself asking why lamb?

“And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion,” (Revelation 14:1)

Lamb as a metaphor for Jesus. You didn’t mean to laugh at it but it just seems funny for someone (like me) who knows little about the bible.

You do know why Lamb and understand it. It’s just that you can’t help but to keep asking why not fish, donkey, dove or others. Anyways, you believe in God.

And so you said, but not everything you know you understand and not everything you understand you know. Ex malo bonum, how bad come good.
